Realising Security Innovation event was a success!
27th June 2024
The Engage2Innovate (E2i) project recently hosted its inaugural symposium, “Realising Security Innovation,” on June 19-20, 2024, in Brussels. This two-day event served as a crucial platform for security practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to come together and explore the latest advancements in security solutions.
June 19 – Symposium 1
The event kicked off with a keynote address by Nicolas Bessot, Head of Innovation and Security Research at the European Commission, who emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing contemporary security challenges.
Throughout the symposium, attendees were treated to a series of insightful presentations and panel discussions covering a wide range of topics related to security research and innovation. Experts from various sectors shared their perspectives on the current state of security technologies and the future directions of research. These sessions provided valuable insights into the practical applications of cutting-edge security innovations and highlighted the necessity of a collaborative approach to address complex security issues.
June 20 – DesignLab1
A standout feature of the event was the DesignLab workshop held on the second day. This interactive session focused on human-centered social innovation, encouraging participants to engage in hands-on activities to develop conceptual models that advance security solutions. The workshop underscored the importance of integrating diverse viewpoints and expertise to create effective and user-friendly security measures. Participants left with a deeper understanding of how collaborative efforts can drive impactful innovation.
The “Realising Security Innovation” event successfully demonstrated E2i’s commitment to fostering a community of practice in security research and innovation. By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the symposium facilitated meaningful exchanges of ideas and best practices. As E2i continues to spearhead initiatives in this field, the insights and connections made during this event will undoubtedly contribute to the development of robust and innovative security solutions.
